Cycle of Reincarnation
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android
Description
If you've read, watched, or played anything in the "isekai" genre you know what to expect. Some random nobody from some weird world gets reincarnated into another world, giving them a second chance at life.
But what if this wasn't something random? What if every person went through this? What if you had a lot more control over your next life?
This story attempts to take the idea of reincarnation and put a more natural spin on it, making it a natural order of the universe. It tells the story of a character who goes through this natural order, and what it would truly mean to take your memories from a previous life into a next one.
Although... maybe he should have clarified which gender he would end up as in his next life...
Oh well, too late now.
Follow along with Amy's new life in a fantasy world we all dream about. Learn about the world as she does, but as she will come to find out sooner or later.... the ideal of becoming a fantasy adventurer is not all it's cracked up to be. It's always painted in a pretty light, but honestly, things get brutal, violent, dangerous. You're not guaranteed to get out of it alive.

Characters
Amy is the main character of this story. She's a bit headstrong, rambunctious, stubborn, and really doesn't think too much before she acts. This ends up landing her in... interesting scenarios, though thankfully her friends hold her back a bit to keep her from self-destructing too much. Though she is quite smart, extremely dedicated, and willing to put in as much work as humanly possible to achieve what she want, sometimes this is difficult as she does tend to be a bit shy in front of new people. Get her talking about the thing she enjoys the most though - magic - and that clears up real quickly.
Kaya is Amy's childhood friend, a neighbor living in the same fancy village Amy grows up in. While Amy finds her skill in magic quite quickly, Kaya ends up a bit more in the average skill range. Though this absolutely doesn't make her useless. Kaya is very reliable and intelligent, making a very good partner to Amy's straightforward style. She can keep her friend grounded pretty well. Additionally, she has an uncanny ability to read people really well and tell what they're thinking of, and uses it for the most important thing: teasing and flustering the hell out of Amy.
Vander is Amy's brother, and maintains a very calm and confident demeanor. The two grow up very close to each other, and are rarely - if ever - seen apart. He stays pretty quiet most of the time, though it's not out of shyness, it's just that when he's around Amy... she sort of dominates most conversations. Though he doesn't mind it, he's amused easily, and enjoys the antics that they all end up in. It also helps that the thing he loves above all else is the exact same as Amy: adventuring.
Eli is among the group that the two siblings find at school, and grow close to pretty quickly. She greatly enjoys reading, causing her to spend much of her free time in volunteering in the library. She grew up alongside Rei and only joined the school since it's where Rei wanted to go. Her love is for swordsmanship, and while everyone in the group loves adventuring... she is the one who, alongside Amy, just simply loves to fight. She and Amy find themselves dueling and training together very often. Outside of her more confident style when fighting however, she is a pretty gentle and soft spoken girl, and you wouldn't think she'd even be capable of hurting a fly.
Rei is a friend of Eli's as she's grown up, the other member in the group who enjoys magic as much as Amy does. He constantly is on the search for new and cool ways to apply magic to his combat. Similar to Eli however, outside of combat he's another pretty quiet and reserved individual.
Sue is the self-assigned "leader" of the group that Amy and Vander meet at school, having met Eli and Rei a couple years before they joined in school. You can certainly bet that if someone's on her mind, you're gonna hear about it. It's not that she doesn't think before she speaks, she's just so straightforward that she doesn't care if anyone hears what she thinks. While she did join a magic school, she doesn't understand the rest of the group's love for adventuring, she just finds the magic itself fascinating and wants to learn more about it.

This game's releases will be posted on the Patreon two weeks before public release, and I will try (hopefully...) to have builds done about every month. If you ever want to support the game, please pledge to the Patreon! Currently, it is a small game, and every single person's support matters! The link for the Patreon is at the top of the page. Lastly, come hang out in the discord as well if you like - I really hope to expand this and make it a full community, and I need every bit of support in order to make that possible!
The game contains 2,681 dialogue blocks, containing 45,160 words and 233,052 characters, for an average of 16.8 words and 87 characters per block.
Plans
- This will not be a horror, however when the story starts to get to actual fighting/adventuring, it will get brutal and bloody. The entirety of the story is meant to feel (hopefully) a bit more "realistic". Death can happen when you go out fighting monsters. Things may get dark.
- I don't PLAN to make this more open-word/exploratory, the plan is to make this a quite linear story to follow. But that isn't guaranteed.

I like the concept so far (tho i didint manage to read alot of it yet!)
For sure you need way more assets - but it has potential i would say
I appreciate it! Yeah, I agree on the assets - I have hired an artist to work on this now, I didn't have the funds before, so from here on out it is the primary focus!
